  • Who will find the shot clock useful?
Water polo coaches who aim to deliver better training resultsare strongly encouraged to invest in the KF4 shot clock. It is affordable, and easy to pack and carry. It can be set up within minutes. As the shot clock is battery-operated, it is very portable and can be deployed at various locations. The KF4 shot clock helps beginner water polo playersunderstand the 30-second rule and practise counter attack and defence. Experienced water polo players will find it useful in increasing intensity and realism in their friendly games and training matches.
  • What is the purpose of the KF4 water polo training shot clock?
The KF4 shot clock helps young water polo players understand the 30-second rule. It also provides experienced players with a simple and portable 30-second countdown shot clock to increase realism in training.
  • Can I modify the countdown from 30- to 20-second period?
Yes, you can. Instructions will be provided to adjust the countdown period. You can set the countdown period between 1 to 99 seconds. However, this feature is only available for single display shot clock. For dual-display (real time synchronized) shot clock, there is a pre-programmed 30- and 20-second countdown. This video shows a very fast-paced training match played in a 20m pool at 20-second countdown session.
  • How does the KF4 shot clock work?
The shot clock starts the 30 seconds countdown when you press the Start button. When a minor foul is committed, press the Pause button to stop the countdown. Press Start when the player takes the free throw to restart the time countdown. When the countdown reaches 0 (zero) second, the buzzer will sound and the timer will automatically reset to 30 seconds and restart the countdown. When a goal is scored, simply press the 30 seconds Reset button to bring the timer back to 30 seconds and then press Start when the referee blows the whistle to restart the game.
  • How do I control the shot clock?
Simple, you just need to press the Start, Pause, 30 seconds Reset and 20 seconds Reset buttons. You can use the wireless control device or a button panel.
  • What is the difference between the black (color) wireless control device and the white one?
Both the black and white control devices allow you to Start, Stop and Reset (to 30 seconds) the shot clock. The black device has a shorter range of 5 meters and more sensitive and precise, while the white one has a range of 30 meters, hence allowing the time keeper to locate at the opposite side of the pool. But due to the very long distance, the white control device is less precise. It is important to point the antenna of the white control device at the shot clock.
  • What is the difference between model KF4-IT1 and KF4-OT1?
The main difference between these two models is that KF4-IT1 is designed for indoor use only, hence it should not be exposed to rain. On the other hand, KF4-OT1 is for both indoor and outdoor use. It can withstand slight rain.
  • Why do we need double (front and back) display for KF4-OT2?
F4-OT2's double display is helpful when the shot clock is placed next to the pool, in between the players in the water and the timekeeper/coach who is on land. It can also bring more excitement to the audience when they can see the countdown.
  • Why do we need two synchronised units for KF4-OG2?
Two synchronised units are perfect for training matches in full 30-meter pool. You can place the shot clocks at both ends of the water polo pool.
  • Is the shot clock portable?
Yes, the shot clock is easy to pack and carry. Despite a robust casing, it is lightweight. In addition, the buzzer and power cables can be unplugged from timer and packed neatly into the carrying case or your own carrier.
  • Can I connect the KF4 with the competition timing systems?
The KF4 shot clock is designed to be standalone and unable to connect with other competition timing systems. It is best used for training and not meant for international competition.
  • Can the KF4 shot clock operate on battery?
Yes, the shot clock is designed to be portable because not all swimming pools have electricity power source near the pools. Each shot clock can operate using an industrial grade rechargeable battery provided or AA batteries.
  • Can I remove the buzzer?
Yes you can. Simply unplug the buzzer cable from the shot clock. This way, there will be no buzzer when the countdown reaches zero (0) second.
  • Is the shot clock waterproof?
The KF4 shot clock is not waterproof and will be damaged if submerged in water, so please handle it with care. KF4-IT1 is designed for indoor use only and cannot be played under the rain. Other models are designed for outdoor use and can withstand slight rain, heat and cold.
  • Sometimes the wireless synchronization of the two units is not smooth, what can I do?"
This happens when there are interferences from other wireless devices or telecommunication facilities nearby. Remove the interferences.
  • Sometime the wireless control doesn't work, what can I do?"
Please replace the battery in the wireless control device. Also, if you are using the single display shot clock, you need to point the device toward the display of the shot clock as the sensor is located at the display front. Please note that the wireless control (black) has a range of 8 meters, whereas the wireless control (white) has a 30 meters range. Do not stand too far away from the shot clock. Alternatively, you can cable connect the button panel device to control the shot clock.
