The story begins when a Singapore engineer turned business executive who is also a retired water polo athlete wished to help his three young children understand the 30-second rule. He needed a portable 30-second countdown shot clock that was battery-operated, wireless, affordable and easy to carry and set up. Unable to find one after some extensive search, the father then decided to build one himself for his children. He started to look for parts in Singapore, China, Malaysia and Switzerland. And after some extensive engineering work, he assembled his shot clock prototype on January 2018. He made many improvements thereafter and named it the KF4 water polo training shot clock.

As water polo athletes ourselves, we are happy to make more KF4 shot clocks for fellow water polo athletes around the world and make new friends. The father, Keng Yang (Leonard), will assemble more KF4 shot clocks in his spare time after work, like a weekend hobby. Fanxun, Fanmo and Fanran promised to help him when they are not doing their school work and creating misery for their parents. They will rope in Fanwu, the fourth sibling, once he stops wearing diapers. #waterpolo30
